I Saloni WorldWide: a quality showcase for unique exports
The 7th edition of the Saloni WorldWide, the benchmark showcase for the Home Furnishing sector in Russia and the countries in its geopolitical basin will open at Moscow’s Crocus Expo on 12th October. Four days devoted to all that is best in interiors: 399 companies will be showcasing the cream of the furniture presented in Milan. Alongside the trade fair proper, as always, will be the SaloneSatellite WorldWide, the platform for up and coming young designers, and the Master Classes, three workshops led by three top Italian architects.
The positive data posted on Italian exports to Russia, which rose 17.3% during the first two months of 2011, has meant that a further 26% of net exhibition space has now been allocated to the 7th edition of the Saloni WorldWide Moscow.
The Saloni WorldWide Moscow is therefore continuing its original “mission” to introduce exhibitors from the Saloni in Milan to promising markets, such as Russia, as befits its role as an extraordinary promotional vehicle. The Russian market is an exciting one, not just for the Italian firms – 367 of whom will be exhibiting – but also for several other European countries, such as Spain, France and Germany, represented by 32 companies who have been long-standing exhibitors at the Milanese Saloni.
The applications to take part in the Saloni WorldWide Moscow are testament to its strength as a business catalyser, not least because it is recognised as the one and only showcase for quality furnishing on the Russian market. This means that there will now be a whopping 14,010 square metres of net exhibition space in the Design/Modern sector (6,568.5 square metres, Hall 8.) and Classic (7,441.5 square metres, Halls 5-6-7). Furthermore, 19 Italian and Russian technical publications will also be represented, sited on the longitudinal axis between pavilions 7 and 8.
This Furniture Fair , launched by Cosmit and FederlegnoArredo in 2005, remains true to the slogan on the publicity leaflet for the upcoming edition – “Odna takaia” – which means “the one and only” in Russian. It is in fact the only trade fair to offer a complete, high end array of commercial goods, ranging from furnishings to upholstereds Furniture , from lighting appliances to kitchens, office , furnishing accessories, bathroom , Royal Living room, Italian Dining tables , textiles, furnishing components and accessories for furnishing products. It is also the only trade fair that attracts an increasing number of visitors, from 13,199 at the very first edition to 31,485 at the 2010 edition. The fair – which will run from Wednesday 12th to Saturday 15th October in Pavilion 2 of the Crocus Expo in Moscow, the leading Russian exhibition centre – is to have a different layout as of this year in order to bolster the identity of the two exhibiting sectors. The information signage has also been reformulated, both in general terms, for improved visitor-friendliness, and to make the best possible use of the exhibition spaces, and in terms of stand identification, with the nationalities of each exhibiting company clearly flagged up.
As ever, the strictly trade fair will be flanked by the SaloneSatellite WorldWide Moscow, showcasing the best of young creativity in Russia and the countries in its geopolitical basin, situated in the atrium between Halls 5, 7 and 8.
Three Master Classes will also be held as part of the Saloni WorldWide Moscow programme, led by three key figures in the Italian design world – the architects Dante Benini, Diego Grandi and Michele De Lucchi – who will “chat” to journalist and design critic Olga Kosyreva, about traditional and pertinent aspects of design activity and creativity with the benefit and hindsight of their considerable experience.
